    THE MESSENGER, MARCH 14, 2010
Faithful to the Call Hits Milestone This past week we eclipsed the $1,000,000 mark for our Faithful to the Call campaign. The total pledges-to-date stands at $1,324,546.22, so we still have funds coming in until we reach November 2010 marking the end of the three year collection period. How blessed Park Avenue has been by your great display of generosity. Keep up the good work. The construction is continuing at a crisp pace as interior walls are now going up and the building is beginning to take its shape. Once again, if you’d like a tour feel free to stop by and I’ll be glad to show you around. It’s awesome to imagine all the good work and ministry that will be done in that building for years to come. Not only are we responding to present growth, we are being a blessing to the Park Avenue church for decades to come. All of you who have contributed to this work are to be commended for entrusting your finances to the Lord. And thanks be to God, the giver of all good gifts! May His name be glorified and lifted up in all that we do and say. [more]

    A Word from Wes

    THE MESSENGER, MARCH 14, 2010
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I cannot begin to express to you all what a blessing you have been to our youth and the youth of this community. Other churches have commented on what a fantastic support team we had in place for this weekend. Thank you to all those men who helped set up and take down the stage. I know that is a chore. To all those who volunteered to help serve - thank you. Your support was phenomenal. Our clean up crew did an amazing job. Thank you all for your help. Mark Batts and his team at Batts AVL did a remarkable job getting our sound system in shape to handle all that this weekend would throw at us. Thank you to that group - they are a tremendous blessing to our congregation. Thanks to the Elders for their vision and willingness to dream about ways to meet the needs of our students. Thank you to our parents for their trust and enthusiasm regarding, what must have been, a challenging topic. And a special thank you to Rachel McClure who helped spearhead this event. After seeing the way a similar event impacted her boys, she and Basil helped sell me on the need for something like this and on Steve’s ability to connect with teenagers. Thank you all for the love and support you continually show the youth of this congregation! It does not go unnoticed. [more]
