Small groups for 2010 kick off next Sunday. Inserted in today’s bulletin is a list of small groups for you to choose from. Sign-ups begin this morning and will continue until next week. Sign-up sheets are in the main hallway. If you have any questions feel free to ask Kevin Dale, Greg Clay, Todd or Basil. Looking forward to another great year of small groups. Sweetheart Banquet
We will be having our annual Sweetheart Banquet on February 14th for those aged 60 and over. The banquet will commence immediately following church service. If you plan to attend please mark this on your Communication Card this morning.

Middle School Girls
Our middle school girls will meet at the home of Nikki Walker, 2046 Avon Dr., Denison, tomorrow evening, February 4th, at 7-9 PM. We will be continuing another lesson on Friendship. Bring a Bible and a friend!

On February 7th immediately following church service we will have a lunch to kick off the start of our small groups (commencing on February 14th). There will be no services that Sunday evening. [more]

The Park Avenue Senior Adults will go to Jones Bar-B-Que on Saturday, January 30th. Will meet at the restaurant at 5:30. Please let Rick Fawcett or Ray Jones know if you are going.[more]
MIDWEEK UPDATE - JANUARY 6, 2010
While we are in between small groups from January 3 to January 31 we will have a special series of lessons on Sunday evening called In the Dust of the Rabbi. It is a video based study from Focus on the Family’s series That the World May Know featuring teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan. He will take us on location to motivate and inspire us to become more devoted disciples of Christ. We will meet in the auditorium at 5 pm for the video and teaching. Small groups will resume February 14.

BE A BLESSING TODAY
Be a Blessing Today
Today being our fifth Sunday we will have our Be A Blessing contribution following the regular contribution. All contributions will be used to help out the Bounds family who have had several physical challenges these past two years resulting in financial challenges as well. Let’s Be A Blessing to the Bounds Family and help them in some way bear their burden.

Word Up will resume tomorrow night from 7-9 at our house. If you’ve never attended Word Up, it is a HS devotional designed to be visitor friendly and laid back. We saw “To Save a Life” a couple weeks ago and we will begin processing that movie tomorrow night. Join us!

Parents of teenagers, I want to encourage you to prioritize the Authentic Purity Weekend with Steve Holladay on March 5-7. Parents, we must be proactive in helping our teens to remain sexually pure for the Lord. That means having correct information and talking in a healthy, open way about sexuality and God’s plan for each of us. Parents, this is also an opportunity to open doors for many important conversations with you and your teenager. My boys have attended the conference before in Allen and afterwards thanked us for sending them. I was driving at the time and almost had to pull off the road for Rachel to administer CPR!
